If all those things fall into place, then you stand a reasonable chance of keeping them on. Very correct footed horses with absolutely NO flare, underrun heel, long toe. They work best on horses that are trimmed on a very short cycle - like 4-6 weeks absolute most. In my experience with selling and fitting Gloves for people, the boots either work perfectly well or not really at all.
That has never happened on any other type of boot I’ve used. I have also had a lot of trouble with the screws coming unscrewed and the gaiter detaches from the boot body. Extremely annoying, time wasting, and the reason I am going back to Edge boots for competing. Mud, rocks, river crossing, fine.īut when I get to an endurance ride and my horse is a bit more jacked up and dancy/prancy, she manages to pull a boot off 2 to 3 times per ride. They’re absolutely fine for our leisure trail rides - I even canter and gallop in them, no problems. The question is what’s not to love? Lightweight, streamlined, secure, and tough as nails the Glove boots are where it’s at! Normal circumstances for me mean some lower level dressage, jumping 3′ 6″ – 4′, tight turns at speed, cross country gallops, and rides out on asphalt roads and rocky single track.
Rosie’s size 5’s are a perfect fit and I have never yet lost a boot or torn a gaiter under normal circumstances. For that I can forgive them for being smelly and kind of stubborn. Sure we have our lovers quarrels (only when pounding them onto a hoof that I have slacked on trimming or getting that vile hose ricochet to the face when spraying them out after a muddy ride) and I do regularly beat them with a mallet, but they always give me their all. This week it’s the Gloves with Power Straps and it might just be true love. My wandering eye is drawn to the Clouds and New Trails-they’re just so stylish! Lucky for someone like me, there’s no reason to stop at just one style.
I’ve had my flame with the Old Mac’s G2 and I can’t get enough of the EasyShoe Performance (hands down favorite). I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t been the most faithful when it comes to boots. I’d like to take my love affair with the Easyboot Glove public.
